A group break is a way for people to split a box or a case of cards without paying the full price of the box or case. There are many different ways to do this.
You can get into our group breaks by commenting on an official break post in our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2768091623413856
Official break posts have a break number (Break #xxx), pricing, and PayPal/Venmo information. Payment can by made by PayPal (mvpsportscardsandmore@gmail.com) or Venmo (@mvpsportscardsandmore).
Comments on interest posts asking if the group would want to do a break of a certain sport or product do not guarantee a spot in the actual break.
If you are local, all cards/memorabilia from any breaks you are in will be at the shop for local pickup.
We do not add shipping costs into any of our card breaks to cut down on the overall price of break spots. Unless stated otherwise, shipping is $5.00 USD to the contiguous United States for parcels that weigh under one pound. Memorabilia (bats, jerseys, balls, etc...) will cost more to ship. If you do not reside in the contiguous United States, please contact us for a shipping quote. Any added costs for insurance are at your expense. If you would like a card or cards insured, please contact us.
Shipping is not required after every single break. If you would like to combine shipping between multiple breaks, we will hold your cards until you are ready for them to ship. If the total weight of your parcel exceeds one pound (cards, shipping materials, bubble mailer/box), you will pay the exact shipping cost.
All payments are due within 20 minutes of all break spots being claimed. If your spot(s) are not paid for within these 20 minutes, they may be made available to anyone in the break group. To avoid the risk of this happening, please pay for your spot(s) upon claiming.
All randoms will be determined by a two dice roll that equals five or more. Teams, numbers, and divisions will be randomized in any random breaks, but names of participants will not.
For any college product, cards will go to their current team. For example, a George Kittle Iowa Hawkeyes card would go to the San Francisco 49ers.
Any retired players or current free agents go to the team that player spent the majority of his career with unless there is a specific MLB, NBA, NFL, or NHL team designated on the card.
Any card that depicts a player on a defunct or relocated team will go to that franchise's current team. For example, any Seattle Supersonics cards would go to the Oklahoma City Thunder. If that franchise no longer exists, the card would go to the team that player played the most games with. If a card cannot be claimed by a current team, it will be randomly awarded among all break participants via list random on random.org/lists.
Any card that depicts players from multiple teams will be entered into a random for all owners of that card unless someone owns all of the teams on the card. For example, if a card features Aaron Judge, Pete Alonso, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the Yankees, Mets, and Blue Jays will be randomized on random.org/lists. The card would go to whoever owns the team on top after the randoms.
You can join our break room on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/2768091623413856 and watch the breaks on Facebook Live. Breaks usually go live around 6:00 PM CT unless otherwise specified on the official break post.
It's unfortunate, but sometimes the cards don't fall your way. While we all want to hit the best cards every time, you may walk away empty-handed at the end of a break. No refunds will ever be issued for hitless spots.
Have fun! Card collecting is a hobby we all love and are passionate about, and it can only be as good as you make it. Please be respectful to each other, and let's form a strong, trustworthy community!
